Karin Engblom – jewelry expert

I´m a creative and analytic marketer with expertise within jewelry and watches, who is passionate about developing products and assortments.

Exciting collaborations

I have a thorough background from the jewelry business having worked as a Product Manager as well as Head of Merchandising within Iduna, one of Europe´s largest jewelry retailers with the chains Guldfynd, Hallbergs Guld and Albrekts Guld. There I worked with product development, assortment strategies, buying etc in charge of profitability for many thousand SKU:s.

I have a great sense for trends and colours and have had the opportunity to manage many different type of cooperations.

Among others, I have succesfully cooperated with a couple of Sweden´s top influencers and artists – Bianca Ingrosso, Kenza Zouiten and Molly Sandén.

I have also been in charge of developing a number of private labels that today form part of Iduna´s assortment, for example Mood and Story of Love.

In addition to this, I have also been responsable for driving projects together with charity organisations, film producers and premium brands, among those SOS Children´s Villages, Warner BROS and Pilgrim A/S.

It would have been nice to briefcase examples from above collections, however this isn´t possible due to copyright matters.

Increased sales and happy customers

My work with assortment, products and campaigns has given me a thorough experience of sales- and marketanalyses, picking up trends and identifying commercial opportunities in order to streamline the assortment and increase customer satisfaction and profitability.

Extensive international network

I have an international background from having lived in many countries and having worked with international trade all my life. I have cooperated with suppliers and organisations all over the world and with premium brands such as Pandora, Georg Jensen and Thomas Sabo.

To me, a successful cooperation is based on trust and will benefit both sides. The experiences of working with international stakeholders has of course been valuable from a commercial perspective but also added many insights on a personal level.

Upskilling

I´m fascinated about what makes a company or brand succesful and about how communication is affecting us humans. Therefore I have invested time in upskilling the past year within areas that have grown in importance in the digital society: brand development, consumer behavior as well as digital and content marketing. This has given me new leads and insights.

The digital environment combined with recent pandemic effects, have created a new playing field for retail where creating engagement and giving a syncronized and inspiring customer experience all the way can be crucial in a customer´s buying decision.

My angle of approach is that the right combination of product offer and communication can enhance the customer experience and thus increase sales, customer satisfaction and longterm loyalty.

To me, it´s important to have passion in my work. I love beautiful things and like the thought that the jewelry you wear can enhance how we feel about ourselves but also impact how others see us.
